And With That, I Became a Married Man!
Welly welly well! Sure has been a long time since I last touched down here. Let's just say I've been busy as ever, and with no internet connection (other than sporadic on-offs) and haven't been able to post. Guess I could always write these offline, but I'm too lazy for that. I need the instant gratification that this message will make it out there just as soon as I approve it to do so.
Anyway! Since my last post, something big, no, huge has happened in my life: I got married! After being somewhat secretly engaged for the past year to my girlfriend of the past four years, we finally were able to take the plunge last week at a nice beach location near Ft. Fisher, NC, near Kure Beach, near Wilmington. Not Ohio!
The ceremony was very nice, had all of my immediate family there, as well as brother-in-law and niece, as well as grandma from Texas. Just 9 of us, plus our officiant and his wife, doing the photography. The whole thing lasted maybe 20 minutes, complete with a sand ceremony and conch shell horn blowing. Way cooler than most other weddings I've been to! I'm not much of a traditionalist - enjoy setting my own rather, and this was a great way to do it (and save thousands of dollars, too!) Beach hippies sure know how to make a great wedding. The weather was also excellent, and the photos will be great. Will post those on here once I get them.
In lieu of the wedding reception, we are planning on having a large event next summer in honor of our wedding. Haven't decided on it yet as we are planning on moving between now and then. But it will be nice, whatever it is!
